EFT is a healing tool for releasing and relaxing emotions, created by American performance coach Gary Craig, a graduate of Stanford University, and is used by many therapists around the world.
EFT is a technique that integrates the Eastern concept of “ki” (energy) with Western psychological therapy and is classified as “energy psychology”. In the West, it is used by many professionals as a simple, safe yet highly effective therapy, and in Japan it is also being introduced in some psychosomatic medicine and psychiatric clinics.
Our bodies are filled with “ki” (life energy).
When we experience mental stress such as anxiety, sadness or anger, or physical stress, the energy (ki) in our bodies becomes stagnant, which can cause us to lose our emotional balance and manifest physical symptoms.
EFT is a method that releases negative emotions such as anxiety, anger, sadness and irritability by improving the flow of stagnant energy through is a technique that stimulates acupressure points on the face, chest and hands by tapping while focusing on situations that represent personal stress. EFT draws on various theories of alternative medicine – including acupuncture, neuro-linguistic programming, energy medicine, and Thought Field Therapy (TFT). EFT and similar techniques are often discussed under the umbrella term “energy psychology.
