Meet Eric (Naotaka) Tamai

Accredited, Certified EFT Practitioner

I was born and raised in Kyoto, Japan. My family hosted international students, and I myself was a high school exchange student.

After graduating Doshisha University (B.S., Economics), I joined an import/export company in Tokyo. A few years later I was stationed in Seattle, WA, USA as a procurement agent in lumber and forestry. I worked in the Pacific Northwest for 30 years, and in 2022, I retired from Mitsubishi International Corp.

Working in a corporate environment for over 30 years, there were times when I didn’t like my job and wanted to quit. But overall, it was a very fulfilling experience. I felt that I was indirectly contributing to society through my work. Now my life is evolving so that through my work, I can feel that I am directly helping people.

I have always been curious about the mind-body connection, and a seeker of personal growth and self-discovery.  When I was working in a company, I sometimes felt stuck in my work and had problems with my relationships with other people, and I even became depressed occasionally. At such times, I had very helpful experiences with (Emotional Freedom Techniques)EFT sessions.

I am sure there are many people who are stuck and suffering in the same way as I was. I started my EFT practice because I wanted to help people through these times.

In my years of training and practice to earn my EFT Practitioner Certificate, I have seen many individuals dealing with stress and/or trauma. As an EFT Practitioner, I strive to create a positive state for clients. And my cross-cultural work and life experiences give me particular insight to help people who are struggling to adjust to different cultures, including corporate cultures and school transfers.
